Mission & Values
Specialty Fire Solutions exists because the old tools were harming the people who used them. For decades, PFAS-laden agents saved structures while quietly poisoning the firefighters who deployed them. That trade-off was unacceptable. Founded and staffed by career fire service professionals, SFS develops all-natural, 100% PFAS-free suppression chemistry that performs at the highest operational standard without the toxic cost. Every product we build is non-corrosive, non-toxic, and proven in live fire conditions, including lithium-ion thermal runaway, extinguished in under a minute.
Our values are straightforward and non-negotiable. Firefighters deserve tools that protect their health, and the communities they serve deserve chemistry that doesn’t contaminate their groundwater. We hold both as equal priorities. Training and education sit at the center of everything we do, because the best agent in the world falls short in the hands of someone who doesn’t understand why it works. We don’t sell products and walk away. We build protocols, lead demonstrations, develop curriculum, and stand behind every solution we put in the field. The fire service called some of this impossible. We made it standard operating procedure.
Meet the Team
Chief Eddie Sell | Chief Executive Officer

Chief Eddie Sell has spent more than 35 years in California’s fire service, having worked for CAL FIRE, the City of Long Beach Fire Department, and recently as the Fire Chief for Hemet Fire Department in Southern California. Chief Sell remains an active advocate for fire service workers across the nation, and volunteers as the president of a large fire service trade association. Chief Sell holds a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, he’s a Certified Chief Fire Officer, an EMT-P, and is on the board of directors for FIRESCOPE.
Leslie Rowe | Global Sales & Product Development
Leslie Rowe has spent 30 years designing and commissioning fire suppression systems for occupancies most fire protection companies won’t touch. He owns Executive Fire Protection in Long Beach and Marine Fire Protection in Costa Mesa, co-founded Redline Fire Solutions in Nevada, and has worked across aerospace, energy, defense, and industrial facilities where clean-agent, CO2, water-mist, and hybrid systems are the only viable options. His work runs through FM Global and NFPA compliance and holds up under federal and third-party audits. As Chief of Product Development at SFS, he applies that engineering background directly to the product line, making sure what ships actually performs in the field conditions it claims to handle.

Ryan Williams | Chief Operating Officer

Ryan Williams started in film, earning a BFA from the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios before founding Creative Direction Studios, where he produced campaigns for Porsche, the Los Angeles Kings, and Kellogg’s. He shifted into hospitality operations, becoming one of the youngest General Managers in Ruth’s Chris Steak House history and running its busiest U.S. location. He later co-founded EST. Prime Steakhouse, which turned profitable in its first year and drew recognition from the LA Times, Eater LA, and Michelin. At SFS, he runs operations. The through-line across everything he’s done is building functional systems around a clear product, and that’s the job here.
Kimberly Reeder | Chief Financial Officer
Kimberly Reeder has managed complex financial operations for 18 years across city and county government, higher education, nonprofit public health, and public safety organizations. She has overseen budgets totaling more than $4.3 billion and has helped more than 30 volunteer fire departments navigate the reimbursement process for PPE, physicals, and training. She holds a BS from UC Riverside and an MBA from the University of Redlands. As CFO of SFS, she handles financial strategy, grants administration, auditing, and compliance. Her public-sector background means she understands how fire agencies actually procure, which matters in a company selling directly into that market.

Captain Kelly Becker | Chief of Global Training and Risk Management

Captain Kelly Becker spent 30 years with CAL FIRE/Riverside County, retiring as a Captain in 2025. Midway through his career he transitioned into law enforcement, graduated POST in 2017, and spent eight years as a sworn arson and fire investigator. He holds a Certified Fire Investigator designation through the International Association of Arson Investigators and has personally investigated more than 1,200 fires, many involving lithium-ion batteries. At SFS, he builds the training programs, SOPs, and operational protocols the company delivers to fire agencies and industry clients. His time as an investigator shaped how he approaches suppression: he knows how these fires start, which is a different kind of knowledge than knowing how to fight them.
Captain Jason Bowers | Southeastern U.S. Sales Manager
Captain Jason Bowers spent 30 years in operational fire service with CalFire/Riverside County, the Long Beach Fire Department, and Nolensville Fire & Rescue. As Company Officer of Long Beach Airport Crash Rescue, he was responsible for FAA-mandated training and all AFFF system testing at the facility. He later helped stand up a professional fire department in the Nashville metro area. He knows AFFF intimately, which makes him a credible voice on why APKO replaces it. As Southeastern U.S. Sales Manager, he works with fire agencies and industrial clients across the region. The conversations go faster when the person across the table has run the same calls you have.
